Anna is a passionate herbalist and steward of wellness based in Joshua Tree, California. Originally hailing from the suburbs of New York she left the East Coast in 2014 seeking a deeper connection with her mind, heart, body, spirit and the Earth. She travelled nationally and internationally, working a variety of farming jobs, gathering as much information as she could about living in respectful relationship with the plants, people and planet. After roaming around, seemingly aimlessly, she landed in the high desert in 2016 and immediately felt the inspired resonance she was seeking. Welcomed by the astounding creative community, Anna nestled in and began to set her roots.
In 2018 she was gifted a small job at Grateful Desert Apothecary which would be her invitation into developing a deep, quiet, meaningful relationship with herbs. The more she learned about the wisdom of herbal medicine the more she realized her desire to inspire individuals to begin their own relationship with the plants. The journey of inquiry is ongoing and Anna looks forward down the spiral path. She is in the second year of herbal apprenticeship with The School of the Sacred Wild under Marysia Miernowska's guidance.
Grateful Desert’s Aromatherapy Bar is a point of highlight within Anna’s work at the shop. The opportunity to help people adorn themselves with high quality oils and express their unique nature through aroma is a fascinating form of self-expression that brings her joy. She has crafted countless blends for individuals and has created scents for a variety of wholesale clients, with new projects on the way!
In addition to her work as an herbalist, Anna is also a performer mainly focusing on the spoken word. She uses her voice to echo the wisdom and beauty of nature's wonder.
